How CoMo Crates handles the information you share when you rent totes from us.

This Privacy Policy explains how CoMo Crates LLC ("CoMo Crates," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit comocrates.com (the "Site"), place a rental booking, or contact us. CoMo Crates is a reusable moving-tote rental business based in Columbia, Missouri, serving Columbia and the surrounding Boone County area.

By using the Site or renting from us, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or our services.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you book a rental, request a quote, or contact us, you may provide:

  • Your name;
  • Email address and phone number;
  • Delivery and pickup addresses;
  • Rental details such as the bundle you select, your rental dates, and any notes or special instructions you include;
  • The contents of messages you send us through our contact or quote-request forms, by email, by phone, or by text.

Payment information. Rental payments and refundable security deposits are processed by our payment processor, Stripe. Your full payment card number is entered directly with Stripe and is not collected or stored on our systems. We receive limited confirmation details from Stripe, such as whether a payment or deposit hold succeeded and a partial card reference (for example, the card brand and last four digits).

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our hosting and booking providers automatically receive standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and the pages you view, through normal server logs. Our online booking tool (Booqable) also sets essential cookies needed to keep your date selection and cart working during checkout. We do not use analytics services, advertising trackers, or third-party marketing pixels on the Site.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Fulfill your rental — schedule and make deliveries and pickups, prepare your totes, dollies, labels, and seals, and manage your rental dates;
  • Process payments and refundable security deposits, and issue refunds;
  • Send you service messages about your booking, such as confirmations, receipts, delivery and pickup reminders, and updates or changes to your order;
  • Respond to your questions, quote requests, and support needs;
  • Keep our service secure, prevent fraud, and enforce our rental terms; and
  • Comply with our legal and tax obligations.

How we communicate with you

We contact you only about your booking and our services — for example, to confirm an order, coordinate delivery or pickup, send a receipt, or answer a question you asked. We do not send promotional or marketing emails or text messages, and we do not sell or share your contact information for anyone else's marketing. If we ever decide to offer a promotional mailing list in the future, it will be opt-in, and we will update this Policy before doing so.

Cookies

Our Site uses only essential cookies set by our booking tool (Booqable) so that features like the availability calendar, date selection, and shopping cart function during your visit. These cookies are necessary for the Site to work and are not used to track you across other websites. Because we do not use analytics or advertising cookies, there is nothing to opt out of beyond controlling cookies through your own browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies may prevent the booking tool from working correctly.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following limited ways:

  • Service providers who help us run the business. We use trusted third-party providers to operate the Site and fulfill rentals, and we share only the information each needs to perform its role:
    • Booqable — our online rental and booking platform, which manages availability, orders, and customer records;
    • Stripe — our payment processor, which handles payments and refundable deposits;
    • Netlify — our website host, which also delivers our contact and quote-request forms;
    • Zoho Mail — our business email provider, used to send and receive email at our comocrates.com address;
    • Google Fonts — used to display the Site's typography; loading these fonts may transmit your IP address to Google.
    Each provider maintains its own privacy practices governing the data it processes.
  • Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our customers or others.
  • Business transfers. If CoMo Crates is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or similar transaction, customer information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will note any such change here.

Payment processing

All payments and security deposits are handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. Your card details are submitted directly to Stripe and are governed by Stripe's own privacy policy. We do not store your full card number or security code on our systems.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide our services, maintain your rental and payment records, resolve disputes, and meet our legal, accounting, and tax obligations. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, and we rely on established providers (Booqable, Stripe, Netlify, and Zoho) that maintain their own security safeguards. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You may request to review, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask questions about how it is used, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time. Please note that we may need to retain certain information to complete an active rental, process a refund, or meet a legal or tax obligation. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy laws; you are welcome to contact us to exercise any such rights, and we will not discriminate against you for doing so.

Children's privacy

Our Site and services are intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to rent from CoMo Crates. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Our Site may link to third-party websites or tools (such as our payment checkout, social media profiles, or Google Business Profile). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and post the updated version on this page. Significant changes will be reflected here, so we encourage you to review this page periodically.
